In good condition. Light wear to extremities with minimal scuffing to tips and end bands. Light wear at hinges. Gilt finishing bright and clean. All edges marbled, light fading to edges. Prize plate of H.W. Rawlinson on front pastedown. Interior lightly toned with minimal foxing. Free of markings. Tissue guard on frontis is clean and intact. Binding tight. A lovely copy! Please see photos. Prize binding of the Rugby School likely from England. James Russell Lowell (1819-1891) was an American Romantic poet, critic, editor, and diplomat.
