About this Item
A good if battered copy of this collection of Longfellow's poems dated 1861 so nearly 160 years old, and published within the author's life time. No Dust Jacket (as issued?). Cover: black cloth/buckram with blind embossed to front and rear and blind embossed lettering to spine (may once have been gilt but difficult to tell); rubbing to all edges, 2 inch split to top rear of spine and .5 inch split to bottom rear of spine, some erosion to top and bottom of spine but largely intact; quite clean, no marks just rubbing. Internally: front hinge cracking and separation between pp. 224 and 225, but stitching holding, otherwise soundly if loosely bound; some marks (including finger marks) to pages and darkening to all page edges; some corners a little bent but generally good for its age.
