About this Item
In wrappers. 430 pp. Very good, front wrapper is slightly rubbed. Very rare. From a review by Gaito Gazdanov: There are not many things in Russian foreign literature that could be compared with this short story in terms of emotional density, freshness, unmistakable and beautiful rhythm - one that cannot be explained and which cannot be learned. The impression of the immediate power of perception, combined with indisputable and almost unconscious literary art, Balakshin s obvious, undoubted talent is such rare things that one cannot help but pay attention to them. Gaito Gazdanov Modern Notes Paris, 1936. Pyotr Petrovich Balakshin (1898 1990) - prose writer, critic, translator, emigration historian.
