Hardcover. xii, 256pp. Handsome dark green cloth binding with gilt design of pine tree by AR on front boards. AR is Amy Carol Rand. This cover also appears occasionally on Day s work Kin O Ktaadn. Top edges gilt. Seven full page Black and white photos of Maine residents and scenes. Six in text, plus frontispiece. Single page ad for one of Day s other works, Up in Maine, in front matter. Binding square and tight, minimal wear at corners. Text block clean and free from markings. Prior owners name Allan Spear, Bath, Maine rubber stamped on front paste-down. Rustic rhymes about Maine. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall 6¾" - 7¾" Born in Vassalboro, and a graduate of Colby College, Day wrote stories and poetry for numerous periodicals. He was also a working journalist and newspaper owner for a time. His stories purport to capture the diction, the occupations, and the sense of humor of the Pine Tree State.
