Ownership inscription H V Vaughan . Volume two (1903) in tan cloth, with damaged spine with front hinge eroded. The number two in biro 2 to the spine and on title page (No 2) . Two ownership inscriptions to inside front board. Volume four (1908) in red cloth with some wear to boards and spine. The number four 4 in biro on the spine and on the title page, (No 4) . Ownership inscription on inside front board, H V Vaughan . Volume five (1910) bound in red cloth with wear to boards and spine. Number 5 in blue biro 5 and on title page 5 . Rough cut pages are moderately tanned and thumbed at the edges, creased corners and foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards have been moderately rub worn. Noticeable shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are bumped and a little frayed Spine ends are crushed, with noticeable splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Published by the author from his home. The boards show general moderate to heavy scuffing and scratches, including the spine edges and bumped corners with a little loss of cloth on one. Spine head and tail heavily crushed with small tears. Front hinge is partially cracked between the end paper and frontispiece and the back paste-down is partially cracked. However, the binding is firm, the leaves secure. Heavy foxing on the end papers, but the remaining pages are generally clean and bright. Some light thumbing. A little dirt to the gilt top edge. The leaves are raggedly cut to the fore and bottom edges with moderate foxing to the text block edges. Book has a slight forward lean. Overall this is a solid book with clean undamaged pages.
