Augsburg, Jeremias Wolff, 1710-1726. Beautiful large engraving of a baroque wall fountain in a niche in the Orangerie in Erlangen, engraved by Johann Conrad Reiff. With a crowned monogram, richly decorated with putti, 2 with cornucopia, shells, eagles, garlands, a mask. With scale of measurements. Lettered below image "P. Decker inve: deli: - I.C. Reiff fec:" and "Cum privileg. S.C. Majest. - Ieremias Wolff excud. Aug. Vind." 31,0 x 21,2 cm (plate mark).*Kat. Orn. Berlin No. 86, 3 (No. 2). Döry 1960, 607. Kutscher 1995, Kat. 30, pl. 62b. The Orangerie in Erlangen was built in 1705/06 at the request of Markgräfin Elisabeth Sophie von Brandenburg-Bayreuth. The German architect and printmaker Paul Decker is noted for his ornamental designs, he worked in Berlin 1699-1705, in 1707 he became Court architect at Bayreuth, employed by Markgrafen Christian Ernst von Brandenburg-Bayreuth. The engraver Johann Conrad Reiff died probably in 1726. - With small margins, some brown spots, small tear in blank lower margin.[(6046)]. Seller Inventory # 6046
