Tales of the Greeks for school-boys; indeed, affixed to the inside of the front cover is a classics prize-label from 'Academia Aerensi' [Ayrshire School, one supposes], dated 1898, from which we guess the date of publication. Stated second edition. Hardcover, full light blue cloth, all edges gilt, decorated in gilt, black & red - a series decoration with soldier & ship; nothing to do with the contents. General wear, corners rubbed, spine a bit rubbed & dented; mended tear to upper front hinge; minor foxing; evidence of a removed plate on the free endsheet. Text clean; viii, 320 pages + 2 pages publisher's ads, b/w illustrations. Seller Inventory # n0418
