About this Item
Volumes One and Two on the philosophy of G.E. Moore - which are part of Volume 4 in the two publishers' series: The Library of Living Philosophers. The key word here is living as the format is that the philosopher in question submits to the 'most searching scrutiny of thought and meaning from 17 to 30 eminent authorities, outstanding thinkers and writers the world over and, in turn, replies to them.' In addition, the books contain short autobiographies (vol. one here) and bibliographies of writings (vol. two here). Condition with comments applying to both books unless stated otherwise: magenta card covers with slight scuffing/creasing (vol. 2 in bottom right-hand corner - front cover) at the edges/corners. Very faded spine and folding lines visible. Binding of second volume slightly tighter than that of the first. Volume one also has a previous owner's name in ink, dated 1976, on ffep. pp. xv + predatory notices to second and third editions, 393 (vol. one). pp. as vol. one + 397-727, 8vo. (Printed in U.S.A: hence our assumption that the publisher of these two books is Open Court rather than the joint publisher partner, Cambridge University Press). Please note that because of the combined weight and, depending on destination, we may request an additional payment to cover any extra shipping/postage charges. Proceeds to Amnesty International.
