This pair of hardcover books, published in 1895, is in Good condition. Volume 2 is actually in Very Good condition with no markings, except a name and date in ink on the first page. It looks like Winston Churchill, but I can't be sure. The spine is strong and there is little wear to this volume. Volume 1 has many notes in pencil on the first two and a half pages, along with the name in ink and notes throughout in ink. The notes are limited to the margins, so the pages are easy to read. The exterior is worn along the edges. The spine is strong. The gilt is bright at the top of the pages. These books come from a smoke free home.
