Square and straight hardcover in red paper covered boards with lightly bumped tips & spine ends. Tidy name/date on frt pastedown under front dj flap so not visible unless you lift it. Otherwise, no writing or soil in the 254pp text showing vintage print adverts on both sides of fep. Unclipped (unpriced) color illustrated dust wrapper (by G. P. Micklewright) is a professional reproduction that has an amateur repair on the backstrip with title and part of publisher handwritten in ink on dj spine (see image), and a matching slightly faded area on spine of book where the sun hit the cloth pre-repair, else is complete and displays well from the front, now in new mylar. Jacket art shows a top-hatted gent with his arm on the shoulder of a jockey looking back at him, while crowd and racehorse bustle behind them. One of Gould's popular horse racing novels. Author Nathaniel Gould was born in England and spent ten years as a reporter in Brisbane, Sydney and Bathurst during 1884-1895. Seller Inventory # 48419
