Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. THE PERSONALITY OF EMERSON BY F.B. SANBORN PUBLISHED BY GOODSPEED OF BOSTON 1903 1ST UNCUT. You can be the first to read this book; all the pages, joined at the top, are uncut. I am pleased to be able to offer this vintage, nay, heirloom volume, titled: "The Personality of Emerson," by F. B. (Franklin Benjamin) Sanborn. This medium-sized hard cover book (6 x 10 inches, 135 pages) was published by Charles E. Goodspeed of Boston, dated 1903 and a First Edition. The last page notes that: "A Limited Edition of five hundred copies of this book was printed on French hand-made paper, and twenty-five copes on Japan paper, by D.B. Updike, The Merrymount Press, Boston, in March, 1903; this copy is number 103." The book is bound in gray paper-covered boards with a quarter spine in vellum and with a paper title label on the spine. The paper edges, other than the top edge which as noted is uncut, are deckled. There is a tissue-protected portrait of Emerson as the Frontispiece. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The boards, however, are a bit darkened and there is a sun-shadow on the front cover (please see the photos). The spine is bright but the paper label is darkened too, with some very slight chipping along it left side, not affecting the text of the titles. Inside, the book is unmarked (except for the limitation number on the last page) but there is some acid staining from the binding glues on the endpapers. The deckled page edges are also a bit darkened but the interior of the pages is clean and bright. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight, sound and square. This book is not ex-library or a remainder. Seller Inventory # 432
