Half-title page partially detached; rest of pages fully attached. Light foxing inside, but text otherwise unmarked. Text in French. A Belgian politician's response to the controversial PAROLES D'UN CROYANT, which was a book by Felicite de la Mennais (1782-1854), a French Catholic priest whose political ideas led him to formally break from the Church. This copy belonged to Archbishop John B. Purcell of Cincinnati (1800-1883), whose gift inscription is on the title page. Seller Inventory # 184026
