Each letter includes an interesting detailed list of goods to be shipped out on the James Cooper to New Orleans, to be forwarded to a Mr. Holditch and a Mr. Brown at Bryant's Station near Cameron, Texas. Among the items listed to be shipped to the settlers are beds, tools, letter paper, rugs, spurs, eyeglasses, a bushel of white Cheshire wheat, clothing, and several books (UNCLE TOM'S CABIN, a farming book, and FLOSS' AUSTRALIA).
