Fifteen chapters cover amongst other topics, How to Plan an All Over Repeating Design, The Sateen Arrangement, Laws of Ornamental Composition, The Structure of Ornamental Flowers and Foliage, The Treatment of Plant Forms in Textile Design, Traditional and Abstract Ornament and Limitations Imposed by the Structure of the Fabric. Plates show,'The "Symmetrical "Drop" Pattern, Faulty "Turnover" Patterns, Foliate Forms Superimposed on Interlacing Strapwork etc. A serious book therefore, and very thorough in its execution. Condition: This book shows very little wear to the boards, and only a very little rubbing to the spine. The contents are unmarked but for a small mark on the title page.
