(Boston, Massachusetts), 6 1/8 x 7 1/2 inches tall green cloth pictorial hardcover, no dust jacket, green and blue design to front cover, dark green lettering to front cover and spine, illustrated with black-and-white and color drawings by renowned illustrator Clara Atwood (1871-1942), viii, 143 pp. Slight soiling, rubbing and edgewear to covers. Front board very slightly bowed. Prior owner bookplate to front pastedown. 1919 gift inscription to blank front free-endpaper. Otherwise, apart from a couple of pages with slight marginal soiling, a very good copy - clean, bright and unmarked - of this scarce first edition issue. ~SP18~ [1.5P] Charming nature stories for children.
