A manuscript story with original illustrations. The protagonist is Julia Logan, a young woman growing up in an American (Pennsylvania?) mining town, and somewhat inclined to dreaming. She is eventually set to marry the son of the mine owner, and a mining accident seemingly wrecks those plans. She devotes her life to nursing, going to a field hospital in France in WWI. Unusually, it has a sad ending. We assume this is from the period of the 1920s, given the WWI content. 8vo, 61 pages single sided. With 6 watercolor illustrations, one on the cover illustration somewhat chipped). Bound in faux leather. Seller Inventory # 23706
