Limited edition of 300, this being number 248. Quarter leather binding, gilt lettering and deocrations, cloth is worn, lightly scratched, board ends and corners are heavily worn to the cardboard, binding sound, pink marbled end-papers, half title page has writing scribbled out in ink, internally clean, pages lightly age-toned. Please note, white lines in scans are an artifact from my scanner, and are not present in book pages. "Old Sword Play" by Alfred Hutton remains one of the best texts on the use of historical weapons and the art of historical fencing styles. Hutton studied historical manuals and descriptions which he analyzed and was then able to explain to modern readers. Hutton explains the use of the two-handed sword, the rapier and dagger, broadsword and dagger, rapier and cloak, cloak and dagger, the case of rapiers and the transition period.
