This is Book 4 of "Anthologie aus den Elegikern der Römer" , consisting of works by Latin Poet Ovid. The book was edited by classicist Karl Jacoby (1849 - 1939), and issued in 1915 (as per the Deutchen Nationalbibliothek Katalog) in the series "Griechiche und Lateinische Klassiker - Schulausgaben mit Anmerkungen" , and published by B. G. Teubner in Leipzig, Germany. Ovid's poetry is in the original Latin, which is accompanied by extensive notes and Appendix in German by Jacoby. Published during World War I, this reprint displays the restrictions that happened to paper usage during war : the choice of paper was limited, and thus the book, after more than a hundred years, has toned throughout. I repeat, the paper is considerably darkened and the binding must be considered as intact and clean, but a mite fragile. Drab (the color) end-papers. ************************************************ CONDITION -- VERY GOOD -- This is a previously owned book that has signs of age, but which remains clean and serviceable, with the following particulars noted :: EXTERIOR -- Spine extremities are compressed; lettering on spine is still strong; front board has a touch of darkening and weathering about the edges, but is clean and presentable; rear board has some smudges near the top edge and moderate surface rub, else clean; text-block edges are toned and weathered. / BINDING -- As solid as can be expected - no leaves are detached or loose. boards have a slight yawn at fore-edge. / INTERIOR -- End-papers are toned and display a bit of foxing; owners name stamped at top of free end-paper and top of title page ; paper throughout is considerably, but unavoidably toned - else all is clean and unmarked.
