A very good copy, for its age, in a similar dust jacket of the first edition of the cheap hardback edition (19th printing) of this famous mystery story. Dust Jacket: yellow paper (usual Gollancz livery), with black and red lettering to front and spine; bright and quite clean, just some darkening to spine, edges, and folds; some rubbing to top edges and very minor loss to top of spine, but really in very good condition for its age; not clipped (now protected). Cover: green cloth covered boards with gilt lettering to spine; bright and clean but some fading to spine; few other visible signs of shelf wear. Internally: very clean and tightly bound; previous owners neat book plate to front free end paper, no other markings, inscriptions or book plates; some darkening to page edges; otherwise in very good condition.
