288pp. Rear board missing. Interesting hand written notes, names etc (dated 1773 & 1795) inside cover (including Hickman & Thos Field of Ludlow from the 1700s) & on rear of frontispiece. Page 288 is 'End of Vol I', it is followed by only the last page of the index to vol I & then the first 9 pages of index to vol II the last couple of pages of which are tatty. The rest is still well bound together. Interior has some margin notes mainly in upper margin which appear to be in same hand as one of the earlier owners, there is some ageing, finger marks, the occasional small tear without loss but generally in nice readable condition. 29 of the 32 plates mentioned are present (others might have been in vol II ?), the last plate is numbered 29 opposite page 282. Most of the plates are dated 1746 or 1747. This vol covers from Egbert to Charles II. Picture of this book available. Seller Inventory # 04701b
