About this Item
Title: Nagakura Muromachi Art Collection of Ancient Japanese Paintings and Sculptures Author: Fumi Kurata Work Phase: Kyu Normal Publication Time: 1978 Edition: Hardcover Publisher: Mitsumura Page Size: 268 Page Size: 29.2 x 23.2 cm 321 Product Description : (Very special price) The art of Nagakura Muromachi, this book contains 84 ancient Japanese national treasures, comprehensive Buddhist sculptures, Buddhist paintings, portraits, picture scrolls, calligraphy and crafts, etc. Original Japanese version. Korekokei, the most famous sculptor of Buddhist statues in the early days of Nagakura, and his extant works, such as the Fuku-Kunsaku Kannon of the Nanendo Hall of Kofuku-ji Temple, the Four Heavenly Kings, and the Sixth Dharma, are the characteristics of life-and-motion photography of the sculptures of Nagakura. Built in 1203, the statue of Kongo Rikishi at the south gate of Todaiji Temple, co-constructed by Yoshinoko Koreyasu and Unkei Wakaikei. Based on the realism of other works, combined with the predecessor aestheticism Japanese style samurai style, the strong Japanese national spirit emerges. After Kang Ying, the peak period of the art of carving Nagakura arrived. This temporary carving, deeply influenced by Song Dynasty art, has been added to many Song Dynasty crafts. Among them, Kotoku-in gilt-bronze seated statue of Amida Nyorai (Immediately the Great Buddha of Nagakura) is the largest scale sculpture at that time, the finest craftsmanship, and the height of the carving in the visible Nagakura period. Mainly works as a painter of Buddhism and ink painting. Since the spread of Jodo sect, Buddhism, which contains the Pure Land sect, has become popular day by day. A large number of Buddhist paintings, such as Amida's arrival, are consistent with the Pure Land religion, and there are great differences between the subjects, characters, and landscapes, and the Heian period Buddhist paintings. The Buddhist paintings of the late Nagakura period are paintings, and thus have a certain social background, historical circumstances, popular folk picture scrolls, large tools, very clear Pure Land thought, such as Hell Zoshi, Gaki Zoshi, etc. Song Dynasty Zenrin's popular top image is also in Japan. The top image is the portrait of the founder of Zen Buddhism, and the top image of the Chinese master Boan is the beginning of Japan. The top image is the actual effect, and the revealing image is the true spirit of the appearance, the purpose of the image is not the beauty of the previous Buddhist painting, but the colors and lines are comparable.
