About this Item
[2],50pp. Dbd. Faint institutional stamps on one leaf, short tear to top margin of some leaves, one minor ink emendation, presumably authorial. Good. Adam Ferguson was a noted Scottish agriculturalist. He journeyed to America and Canada in 1831 on what would be the first of two important tours which he would turn into eminently readable narrative accounts. He was so impressed with Upper Canada that he would move his family there in 1833, establishing his home, Woodhill, near Waterdown, Ontario. Fergusson would serve as a Legislative Councillor for the region in 1839. The present work is an offprint from the QUARTERLY JOURNAL OF AGRICULTURE, No. XVI. TPL 1639 (ref). DICTIONARY OF CANADIAN BIOGRAPHY (online). Seller Inventory # WRCAM50865
