Bound in original calf; spine rebacked using original spine, in compartments, decorated gilt. 1834 inscription on front pastedown and initials on verso of first free endpaper; 1887 presentation inscription on first free endpaper and a 'Recitation' (story) on last free endpapers extending into rear pastedown. Some browning and staining but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by ten folding engraved plates. Numerous tables in text and at end. Decorated by head and tailpiece vignettes and initials. The Treatise of Navigation by Henry Wilson (1673-1741) was first published in 1715 and later editions were revised and corrected by William Mountaine. It includes a Table of Latitude and Longitude 'of the Principal Harbours, Headlands and Islands in the World.'
