1970, First Edition of the Bellow's third and final National Book Award-winning novel. Original half cloth with blue top stain and grey binding with black lettering. A couple of marks on blue part of front board. Blue endpapers in excellent condition. 313 pages also in excellent condition. Saul Bellow is the only author to have received three National Book Awards, for The Adventures of Augie March, Herzog, and Mr. Sammler s Planet, in addition to both the Pulitzer and Nobel Prizes. The Sunday Times praised these achievements when it revered "Bellow s oeuvre [as] both timeless and ruthlessly contemporary." This is the story of Mr. Artur Sammler, a survivor of the Holocaust, haunted by memories of his literal escape from the grave, is living out his days in New York City. Seller Inventory # 564
