Editions of these volumes by Surtees are very difficult to date since they were reprinted frequently and many are undated. This volume collates with the first book edition of 1865 published by Bradbury and Evans. However, the publisher in this volume is Bradbury and Agnew, and Agnew replaced Evans in 1872 so this volume was published after that. 6 x 9" pp. vii + 391 with 24 hand-coloured engravings on steel and 56 wood-cut illustrations by John Leech and Hablot Knight Brown (Phiz). Good in bevelled-edged decorated red cloth with gilt lettering to front and spine and gilt and black decoration. Slightly grubby spine. Contents generally clean. No stamps or labels.
