Red cloth on board with gilt lettering to spine the cover is in excellent condition. In unclipped dust jacket which is creased along the top edge otherwise in very good condition. Now in protective cover. Slight dusting around the outer edges. Internally in excellent condition throughout. Complete with 104 plates. This is the first book to describe the history of mountaineering from it's beginnings in the 1880's to the date of publication. This book contains some of the first action shots ever taken on British rocks. Appendices include the most extensive (at the time) bibliography on the subject ever published and a list of more than a hundred British mountaineering clubs. Seller Inventory # 000496
