1898, Second Edition 1st Printing-2 volume set.Hardcover. Bound in green cloth with beautiful gilded design on binding, although worn; some rubbing at the bottom of the binding and slight wear across the top. Top of pages beautifully gilded. Inside, pages are clean and crisp. In volume one, the first 3 pages are removed from the spine, which is slightly removed from the book. Both volumes state "Part Seventh" on the title pages. Opposite the Title page is an illustration of Montcolm in Volume One and Wolfe in Volume Two. Volume two has a torn end paper, otherwise, in good condition. There is a bookplate of prior owner in both volumes. Francis Parkman (1823-1893) was an American author and historian best known for his works: "France and England in North America" and "The Oregon Trail: Sketches of Prairie and Rocky-Mountain Life".
