Handbill with text in a variety of type fonts, for the New York City medicinal bitters manufacturer located at 335 Broadway, with a plan of Broadway from Wall Street to Leonard Street printed on the verso to assist strangers visiting New York to find Dr. Moffatt's office. John Moffatt introduced medicinal bitters to New York in the mid 1830s, claiming to cure a wide variety of ills. William B. Moffatt, John's son, took over the business in 1838, and patented the bitters in 1862. His name and business are recorded here at 335 Broadway, corner of Anthony Street. By 1845, the company had introduced another remedy, Moffat's Vegetable Life Pills. Printed on pale pink paper. Very good condition. 5 x 8 ½". Seller Inventory # 23622
