Volume I: 1944, 71pp, photographs; Volume II: 1946, 64pp, photographs; Volume III: 1946, 63pp, photographs; each in light card covers. In good overall condition, the covers of Volume I and II a little browned and marked, Volume III less so. Uncommon publicity items from Miles Aircraft Limited, which was founded in the 1930s as Phillips & Powis Aircraft, and took the name Miles in 1943. After the war it ran into serious financial difficulties and in 1947 it entered receivership following which the company was broken up, with the aviation assets bring bought by Handley Page. In 1949 Frederick Miles formed F G Miles Limited, which continued to manufacture aircraft under the Miles name until 1961 when the aviation interests was taken over by Beagle Group. Don Brown wrote 'Miles Aircraft Since 1925' published by Putnam in 1970 and was personal assistant to G H Miles, the Design Director of Miles Aircraft.
