This VG+ quality book was published shortly after 1933 (it lists all 10 titles on the jacket) by World Syndicate Publishing Company. It is a format #4 as per Mattson & Davis (World Syndicate Publishing Co.; 7-1/2"; blue or green cloth with gold lettering on spine; front panel has a 1-3/8" x 1-1/4" gold box in upper left corner enclosing "The Mercer Boys Series") and has 256 numbered pages of text. This book--one-piece lightly textured medium blue boards with gold lettering on the spine--is square, very clean, free of corner bumps and edge dings; the head and heel of the spine are bumped without fabric damage; the bottom edges have little wear. The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type. The hinges are strong and not damaged in any way. The paper is slightly toned and is still very flexible and not at all brittle. The VG quality jacket is clean and has no fading, remarkable because the spine has a strip of plum color which fades quite easily; it does have small chips at both the front corners and at the head and heel of the spine, with slight wear along the front fold. The list on the back of the jacket lists all 10 books in this series, the last of which was published in 1933.
