New Edition without dust jacket. Maroon cloth boards with gilt titles to spine. Staining to front board, slight fade to spine with rubbing to edges. Spine cocked. End papers tanned with pencil name to fep. Title page and frontispiece slightly soiled (see photo). Text clean throughout but lacks route map to rear. Churchill visited South Africa in 1891 and wrote a series of letters for the Daily Graphic which appeared on a regular basis.
