About this Item
Four works (one of which in two volumes) bound in four volumes. Memoirs of Caroline, 1821, two volumes, Vol I, pp. [ii],iv,600, frontis, engraved title & 8 plates, all in colour; Vol. II, pp. vii,526, frontis, engraved title & 3 plates, all hand coloured; Last Days,1822, pp. iv,379, Frontis & 4 plates, all in colour; Voyages & Travels, pp. x,755, folding engraved map & eight hand coloured plates; Trial (1822), pp. [iv],xvii,459, frontis & 6 hand coloured plates. The Voyages without the printed title, but with a duplicate 'Memoirs' coloured title instead, a handful of plates mis-bound into the wrong volume. With a total of 3 coloured titles, folding map & 32 hand coloured plates. The arrangement not conforming to the lists in the volumes (only given in two of them) and those in Tooley, and some plates differing in title to those given, but a notorious work for completness given the haphazard parts issues & re-issues. Here found with the maximum count of plates. The second volume with some unobtrusive light upper corner-margin damp-staining. A pleasant set bound in slightly later half calf with twin labels, gilt, some light scuffs & slightly bumped at the head of Vol. II. Vg. [Tooley 14 & 15; Pine-Coffin 814.12; BMC I, 169].
