2 volumes. Octavos, half-leather, 696 + 866 pages, indexes, illustrated with engravings. Volume 1 engravings are: Queen Caroline as a young woman, half-title page, George III, George IV, Princess Charlotte and The Queen's house at Como. The illustrations in volume 2 are Queen Caroline as an older woman, half-title, Sir Robert Wilson, General Fergusson, Brandenburg House, Queen Caroline's daily procession to court, William Vizard, Queen Caroline's procession to St. Paul's, Queen Caroline's last moments, and Queen Caroline's funeral. 16 in total. The covers are worn and volume 2 has a split about 2" long down the top right hand side of the spine. The engravings are quite heavily foxed but the main text-block although foxed is VG for its age. Volume 1 has a few soft pencil underlinings. Seller Inventory # 005498
