Published: 1947. 1st Thus. First two volume edition. Originally published in four volumes in 1933-4. DESCRIPTION: Four volumes in two bound in maroon cloth with gilt crest to front and titles to spine. Illustrated with numerous fold out plans and maps and other documents. This first two-volume edition is an entirely new setting (not a rearrangement of previous editions) of the original four-volume edition of 1933-34. This unabridged edition retains all the maps and plans of the original, but illustrations have been removed other than the two frontispieces. Language: English. Book Condition: Good: Light wear to corners, edges and spine ends. Rubbed cloth with minor spots and marks in places. Both volumes are tightly bound with lightly spotted intact endpapers with firm hinges. Clean unmarked pages with minor creasing to edges of a few fold outs. Minor offset to one gathering at the rear of volume I. DJ Condition: No DJ Pages 1049, 1078. Size: 22cm by 15cm.
