The story captures the controversial maneuver of Lieutenant Yong Xa, head of a company of the Special Forces, who deserts the force to join movements in support of the liberated zone. His transition to join the liberation front is successful due to the great deed of a young Hmong girl of 15 years old name Mai Blia. She is put through risky situations as she tries to persuade Lieutenant Yong Xa and his soldiers to understand the political relaity of that time in order for them to join the light of righteousness.
