Extremities a little worn and occasional light spotting in text but otherwise a fine copy. 1943 inscription on first free endpaper. Inscription on second free endpaper: Limited to 500 Copies for Presentation J. A. [Presumably the initials of the artist]. Illustrated by 12 coloured plates, including frontispiece and by drawings in text and title vignette. Each page within blue decorative border. A fine edition of the 1731 short novel by Abbé Prévost (1697-1763) with splendid colour plates and line drawings by John Austen (1886-1948) the Kentish artist and book illustrator.
