Blind-stamped red paper over covers. Ornate gold spine designs, titles. 4.5x6.75in. Frontispiece and 3 other plates from engravings. Late 19th century youth stories featuring Lucy and her brother Royal. Jacob Abbott's 'Rollo Boys' stories had been successful. The Lucy series was written for their counterparts. Chapters: The Marble Box; Metaphysics; Stories; The Ride to Town; The Gypsy Party; The Morocco Book--The Lonely Sleigh-Ride; Mary Jay's Sunday School; The Present; A Fright; Royal a Protector; The Dictionary. An authentic original in need of spine, cover repair. Retains clear sharp print quality one can still 'feel'. Series title page lithograph, colorful. Fair. No dust jacket. Corner wear.
