First Edition, First Impression 12 October 1901. 6 x 8 inches. 360 pages. Green cloth boards with pictorial front cover and gilt title to spine and cover. Some tanning to spine and corners very mildy bumped. Signs of handling and a stain to upper rear cover - does not affect the charming rear illustration. No jacket as published. Binding tight, there is a crack to gutter at front and rear paste-down but no pages are loose. Text and beautiful illustrations are crisp and clear throughout - very slight foxing to end papers and a touch of tanning to uncut page ends. The stain from the rear cover follows through into the last few pages of the book but is negligable. Inscription on front flyleaf, no annotations. This is a lovely, lovely book in very good condition, regardless of its considerable age. For collecting and enjoying. The illustrations are worth the price on their own. Seller Inventory # 110189
