About this Item
CONDITION: Very Good; professionally resewn with new endpapers with original spine, boards and block probably a disbound book in otherwise Very Good or better condition; spine, edges, and margins of top board are rubbed, corners rubbed through to card, on a blank flyleaf is "Uncle Erin Featherstone" and a spot which looks as if a 19th c sticker had been removed; the cover illustration is in nice condition, as is the back (a few light spots); pages are clean and unwrinkled. Juvenile hardback. Very pleasant, happy little stories about helpful small people, but without pointed morals, as Daniel Lothrop was particularly interested in improving the fare available to young children. Some of the illustrations seem to have been created for this volume, some taken from the files, but stories and pictures work well together. Perhaps the practice was to pull illustrations from the publisher's collection and write little stories to go with them. ABE Heritage Seller since 1996; conservative AB condition grading. We ship all our books in cardboard protection. International shipping. . Seller Inventory # 19784
