About this Item
Folded and staple bound pamphlet with black and white lettering on green cover. Circular black and white photos on cover and back of wrapper. Measures about 9 x 15 inches and folds to 9 x 3 ¾ inches. No date, likely early 1900s. Staples are badly rusted and outer sheet has torn off the staples leaving it loose. Slight wear and small tears along edges and folds. Diagonal crease to one corner of outer sheet. Interior has very mild soiling. Includes numerous black and white photos and a folding map. Fair condition only. The Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad, commonly known as the Burlington Route, was a major railroad in the Midwestern United States. This folded booklet advertises trips offered by the railroad to visit the Black Hills region on the border of South Dakota and Wyoming. The information in the booklet focuses on the city of Hot Springs and nearby attractions such as Wind Cave, Sylvan Lake, Spearfish Canyon, and the gold-mining towns of Deadwood and Lead.
