This 11.75 x 11.875 inch, 352 page hardcover book with dust wrapper is the assumed first printing of this title by the Viking Press in 1970. This copy is in at least near fine condition with just a few signs of wear to the grey-cloth covers with stamped signature of Lincoln on the front panel and gilt titling on the spine. The covers show a few signs of rubbing wear but overall the covers are clean, the corners unworn, and the interior text is in fine condition - - with the book composed of many pictures, blocks of Lincoln?s writings, and commentary on Lincoln?s life. The dust wrapper is in only fair condition because of one large closed tear running across the front panel and into the spine fold, with additional edge- and folding-wear but with virtually no missing chips or pieces. The jacket is complete and in need of a Broadart protector. The jacket includes the price on the inside front flap and then a small publishers sticker stating a special price of $14.95 through December 31st, 1970.
