The Life of William Cobbett. Dedicated to His Sons. Printed in Philadelphia by E.L. Carey and A. Hart. 1835, 216 pp, 8 x 5.25 , 8 vo, hardcover 3/4 leather. In fair condition, with rubbing and wear to boards and spine. Splitting and looseness at top to front board. Text block remains bound well with minor wear. Light marginalia and markings. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce American edition of the piece that documented the life and death of William Cobbett (1783-1835), a British pamphleteer, social reformer, and one of the principal lawmakers to lead the push to abolish the Rotten Boroughs in Parliament.
