Complete set of two hardcovers containing four volumes of this biography of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, sturdy red cloth bindings housed in the original red slipcase, both books are in excellent condition, the spines are very slightly faded and a presentation inscription is present in both books, the bindings are clean, bright and tight, the contents are fine and there are no other significant flaws, the original slipcase is in VG condition with some mild edge-rubbing and a short seam split on the top, the slipcase is clean and tight, Book 1 contains Volumes 1 & 2 covering the years 1755-1801, Book II contains Volumes 3 & 4 covering the years 1800-1835, each book contains a black & white frontis portrait of Marshall.
