586pp + section of 32 plates. No dw. 9.5x7.6x1.6 inches. Red buckram, black & gilt title label. Slightly bumped. Sunned at and around spine. Few faint splash marks on and behind spine. Tops red but faded towards spine. Internally foxed endpapers, owner's name, contents about as new. Illustrated with the 32 b/w plates plus a portrait frontispiece. Absorbing autobiography which describes his life and times in 19th and early 20th century Russia, the ideas and images in the dramatic productions he was involved in, the famous characters of his time. The illustrations include photographs of Stanislavsky in various roles, and of theatres he played in. Heavy book, 1.3kg before packaging, overseas postage would require addition. Surface mail, now called International Economy, in fact usually takes longer than abebooks' guidelines and is now our last resort for really heavy books. It is not available for Europe in any case, and we have quoted it at the 1.5 kg weight, for Rest of the World. Similarly cost of a 2nd book is based on an increment of not more than 500g, and we will request Extra Shipping if a combined parcel will cost more.
