8" tall. 2 vols. 1786. 2 vols (of 3). 4 folding plans. Brown leather, ruled in gold on upper, lower and spine; black leather lettering-piece titled in gold on spine; marbled endpapers. Boards scuffed and worn, lightly soiled; edges and corners bumped and rubbed; outer hinges lightly rubbed and cracking at head and foot; inner hinges cracking a little at head and foot; bookplates on FFE of vol. I and lower pastedown and RFE of vol. II; lettering-piece on vol. I chipped and replaced, with hand-written gold lettering; otherwise good; three maps in vol. I with some yellowing, water staining and small tears at tip-in joins, otherwise good; map of vol. II (Carte Generale de l'Egypte) has a larger tear (approx. 3.5") along centre-fold and similar water-staining; general light browning throughout with some water-staining at lower fore-corner.
