In the preface Kirwan states that his letters are now revised here, but were previously published in several other editions around the world. Shea, The Lion and the Lamb. Kirwan is the pseudonym for Nicholas Murray, a Presbyterian who wrote series of letters to Reverend Hughes criticizing Catholicism and the Papacy.
