Daumont, Paris (barely visible in the right corner) ca. 1750-1800 330 x 460 mm (plate: 231 x 422 mm) Etching/engraving/watercolour Of the Gizeal Temple in Palmira in front the Nord (looks like a wrong translation); L'entrée du Grand Temple de Palmire du cote du Nord; A Paris Dau (…) Three worm holes in the print and some more in the margins. Overall state is good. Hand coloured optical view on the ruins of Palmyra in Syria. The gateway of the remains of the building is portrayed prominent in the middle of the print. The people standing in front emphasize the size of the ruins. The sky is hand coloured in pastel-like colours, while the figures are coloured in more vibrant tints. These ruins have recently been destroyed by ISIS. Watermark visible in the middle of the print. Seller Inventory # 61226
