Hardcover brown illustrated boards with black spine and gilt lettering with embossed cover and speckled edges. Corrected and edited by Edgar W. Smith with b/w illustrations, page 767-1222 pages. Volume Two contains: The Thirteen Adventures Originally Published as "The Return of Sherlock Holmes"; and "The Hound of the Baskervilles". The exception to the condition is faintly sunned spine. Housed in a black slipcase in Very Good + condition, with the exception of scuffed bottom edge. "The Heritage Press" was an imprint of George Macy Companies from 1937-1982. In 1929, George Macy founded the Limited Editions Club, publishing illustrated books in limited numbers usually 1500 copies. The Heritage Press reprinted affordable classic nineteenth century novels and biographies enabling fine books to reach the mainstream public previously printed by the exclusive publishers.
