About this Item
October, 1896 lithographic poster in brown, yellow, orange, black. Measuring 16 1/2" x 21". In a conservation frame. This poster shows a black-gloved seated woman in long yellow dress perusing a copy of the Lippincott's Magazine. The poster is by J.J. Gould, a Philadelphia artist who worked as poster designer for Lippincott between 1895 and 1897. He was influenced by another great American poster designer, Edward Penfield. Essentially no wear, colors remain vibrant and bright. Seller Inventory # 011974
