Early inscription on second free endpaper. Twentieth century pictorial bookplate of A. W. and P. M. Best and signatures of A.W. Best, 31. XII. 44 and W. Vaughan Best on first free endpaper. The first US edition, published in one volume, of this important collection of source material for the life and work of Coleridge. It was edited By Thomas Allsop (1795-1880) a close friend of the poet since 1818 and who later became involved in radical politics.
